– Watching Boyhood you can never neglect the eminence of the project that took 12 years of shooting the same cast to complete. When you think nothing is really going on, life just happens!

– Although Richard Linklater wanted to realistically portray the ups and downs in Mason’s life as he is growing up, he fails to profoundly engage with acute issues such as domestic violence and alcoholism, thus creating an imbalance between the first and the second part of the film.

– Despite both performances being critically acclaimed, I did not feel the “wow” factor for neither of the parents roles (Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke).

– The song “Hero” by Family of the Year matches so well to the movie’s soundtrack that it feels it was written directly for the film.

-“You know how everyone’s always saying seize the moment? I don’t know, I’m kind of thinking it’s the other way around, you know, like the moment seizes us.” Mason sums up the whole essence of the film in a single quote!
